Only You was built on a single belief: that meaningful connection requires focus. We ask you to trust us with your story. In return, we promise to protect it.

1. Who We Are

Only You ("we", "us", "our") is a dating application that connects people through a single daily match, giving you twenty-four hours to connect. If you have questions about this policy, contact us at privacy@onlyou.me.

2. Information We Collect

Information You Give Us

Account details — name, email address, date of birth, password (or social login token via Apple/Google)
Profile information — photos, gender, height, location (city), occupation, education, bio, prompts, preferences (age range, distance, looking for, kids)
Communications — messages you send to matches within the app

Information We Collect Automatically

Location — approximate location (city-level) when you choose to share it; precise GPS coordinates are used only to determine city then discarded
Usage data — features used, screens visited, time spent, swipe/match actions
Device information — device type, OS version, app version, unique device identifiers
Log data — IP address, access times, crash reports

Information From Third Parties

Apple Sign In — name and email (if you choose to share) from your Apple ID
Google Sign In — name, email, and profile photo from your Google account
Spotify — track name, artist, and 30-second preview URL for the song you choose for your profile (no access to your Spotify account or listening history)

We do not use your data to sell advertising. We do not sell your personal data to third parties.

4. Photos and Media

Photos you upload are stored securely in our cloud storage. Your main profile photo is visible to other users in the app. We do not use your photos to train AI models or for any purpose other than displaying your profile.

5. Location Data

You choose whether to share your location. If you do:

We use GPS to determine your city and region, then discard precise coordinates
City-level location is stored and used to show you nearby matches
You can switch to "Global" mode at any time in your profile settings, which removes your location and means distance is not factored into your matches

6. Matches and Messages

Only You connects you with one person per day. Messages exchanged during a 24-hour match window are stored to deliver them in real time. If a match expires without both parties connecting, message history may be deleted after 30 days.

7. How We Share Your Information

We share data only in these limited circumstances:

Other users — your profile (photos, name, age, bio, prompts, location city) is shown to your daily match
Service providers — infrastructure and storage tools operating under strict data processing agreements
Legal compliance — when required by law, court order, or to protect safety
Business transfer — if Only You is acquired or merges, data transfers with the business under the same protections

We never sell your personal data.

8. Data Retention

9. Your Rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or export your personal data, object to certain processing, or withdraw consent. To exercise any of these rights, contact us at privacy@onlyou.me. We respond within 30 days.

California residents (CCPA): You have the right to know what personal information we collect, to delete it, and to opt out of its sale (we do not sell data).

EU/EEA residents (GDPR): You may also lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.

10. Children

Only You is intended for users 18 and older. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18. If we become aware that a user is under 18, we will delete their account immediately.

11. Security

We protect your data using encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS), encrypted storage, and role-based access controls. If you believe your account has been compromised, contact us at security@onlyou.me.

12. Disclaimer and Limitation of Liability

Only You is provided as a free service, without warranty of any kind. To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law:

We make no guarantees about the availability, accuracy, or continuity of the service.
We are not responsible for the conduct, content, or actions of any user, whether online or offline.
We are not liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of Only You, including but not limited to failed matches, lost messages, or interactions with other users.
You use Only You at your own risk. Please exercise appropriate caution when interacting with people you meet through the app.
Only You does not conduct criminal background checks on its users.

Nothing in this section limits liability for fraud, death, or personal injury caused by our negligence, or any other liability that cannot be excluded by law.

13. Push Notifications

We send push notifications for new matches and messages. You can disable notifications at any time in your device settings or in the app.

14. Changes to This Policy

We will notify you of material changes via in-app notification or email at least 14 days before they take effect. Continued use after that date constitutes acceptance.
